Wine Tasting Event To Come To Alpharetta (patch.com) — Wine lovers in Alpharetta can look forward to the Alpharetta Uncorked Wine Fest coming to Town Green on Sunday, Sept. 27, featuring more than 60 wines with restaurant pairings and live acoustic music. Hosted by the Alpharetta Business Association, the event offers general admission with a souvenir cup and a VIP option that includes access to an exclusive tent with elevated wine and food experiences.
   

2. Alpharetta City Council moves to lower speed limit on busy street near downtown (cbsnews.com) — Drivers and pedestrians in downtown Alpharetta could soon see slower traffic on Canton Street, where the City Council has voted to drop the speed limit from 30 to 25 mph. After residents raised safety concerns about speeding in this walkable area, the city will now seek Georgia DOT approval to make the change official and potentially consider even lower limits in pedestrian-heavy spots.
   

3. Wildlife mural to adorn Webb Bridge Park pedestrian tunnel (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta's City Council has approved a colorful wildlife mural for the pedestrian tunnel at Webb Bridge Park, funded by the Natural Resources Commission, Arts Alpharetta, and the city. Atlanta artist Sarah Emerson will paint native plants and animals, adding to Alpharetta's growing public art collection and giving walkers, runners, and families a more engaging, nature-focused park experience.
   

4. Grant to fund learning center at Alpharetta community farm (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta is transforming the farmhouse at Old Rucker Farm into a year‑round education center, thanks to a $300,000 Lowe's grant. Residents can look forward to indoor classes on sustainable agriculture, cooking, and nature-based learning, complementing the existing community garden, orchard, and pollinator spaces once renovations wrap up by March 1.
   

5. Alpharetta American Legion holds Sept. 11 ceremony (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta's American Legion Post 201 recently gathered more than 160 people to honor 9/11 victims and heroes, adding new memorial bricks to its Walk of Memories. Speakers highlighted Georgians lost in the attacks and a local soldier killed in Jordan, while also urging better support for veterans' mental health after years of combat deployments.
