• Victim identified in Americus Saturday night homicide, suspect in custody (wrbl.com) — Americus police have identified both the victim and suspect in Saturday night's fatal shooting near Bessie Mays Circle and confirmed the suspect is now in custody. Investigators say 27-year-old Dennis Hamilton of DeSoto died after being taken to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, and they're asking Americus residents to share any additional information that could help the ongoing investigation.
