Man Pleads Guilty To Athens Shooting That Injured 2 Girls: Police
A 38-year-old man was sentenced to 30 years after the North Avenue shooting injured a 14-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl in April.
ATHENS, GA — A man has been sentenced to 30 years confinement after pleading guilty to an April shooting that injured two girls at a North Avenue shopping center, Athens-Clarke County Police said Tuesday.
Authorities accused Rasheed Scott, 38, of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime after a 14-year-old girl was found with a gunshot wound on April 26 at the shopping center.
A 5-year-old girl suffered a face injury in the shooting. At the time, it was uncertain if the child's face injury was due to a gunshot wound, bullet fragment or shattered glass.
