Middle-Schooler, 13, Accused of Pepper-Spraying Student, 2 Teachers
The incident occurred in the Clarke Middle School gymnasium after an argument between two students.

Athens-Clarke County Police arrested a 13-year-old middle-schooler after the boy allegedly pepper-sprayed a student and two teachers Thursday morning.
The boy had been arguing with a 14-year-old boy around 9:15 a.m. in the Clarke Middle School gymnasium. The older boy was pepper-sprayed, knocked to the floor and kicked, police said in a news release. The two teachers, both men, were pepper-sprayed in the face.
Police said multiple student were affected by the pepper-spray; firefighters used large fans to ventilate the gymnasium.

The 14-year-old was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center by his mother and treated for a small cut, the news release stated.
The 13-year-old was charged with simple battery, battery and having a weapon on school property. He was turned over to the sheriff’s office for transport to the youth detention center, police said.
