Teen Charged With Murder In Killing Of Athens Man
Three other people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Ja'Vanni McDavid.
ATHENS, GA — A teen was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of 24-year-old Ja'Vanni McDavid, Athens-Clarke County Police said Thursday.
X'Zydric Faust, 16, of Athens, is being charged as an adult on suspicion of murder, police said. He was arrested with the assistance of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in Florida.
McDavid was shot around 12:15 a.m., March 5, at Northview Drive and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. McDavid later died from those injuries, police said on March 10.

Jaden Appling, 20, Glendarius Tate, 20, and Anthony Brown, 19 - all of Athens - were previously arrested in the case and charged on suspicion of murder, police said.
A motive in the shooting has not been released.
