Atlanta Postpones 'State Of The City' Due To Coronavirus: Mayor
Atlanta's State of the City address has been postponed, Mayor Bottoms shared Wednesday.
ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta’s State of the City will be postponed. The city tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon saying the decision was made “upon the request of its title sponsor, the Coca-Cola Company.” It was scheduled for Thursday.
Mayor Keisha Bottoms will provide a public update in the near future, the post continues.
“The State of the City is being postponed, upon the request of its title sponsor, the Coca-Cola Company. Mayor @KeishaBottoms looks forward to updating the public in the near future of the Administration’s progress & unveiling new policies to ensure a thriving & equitable Atlanta.”

Globally, more than 121,000 people have been infected and more than 4,300 people have died from the COVID-19, Johns Hopkins reported Tuesday. Of that total, more than 80,000 confirmed cases are in China, while the entire United States has 1,050 confirmed cases as of Wednesday morning. Twenty-three deaths in the U.S. have been tied to the virus outbreak.
