Carrington Academy Summer Campers Donate $600 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Campers held lemonade stands to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer
Summer campers at Carrington Academy preschools in the Atlanta area, including Alpharetta, Braselton, Cumming, and Suwanee, recently raised more than $600 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. To raise money for the organization, campers at the schools worked together to sell lemonade to their fellow campers, families, staff, and teachers.
Carrington Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
