The proposed Terrace Manor project would serve adults with developmental disabilities and at-risk youth, while generating less traffic than the former school and helping fill critical service gaps for Richmond County families.

Augusta details $83.6M recovery push as Helene anniversary nears (wrdw.com) — Augusta is closing in on securing about 91% of its Hurricane Helene recovery costs, with $76 million already reimbursed or obligated toward repairing local infrastructure and public facilities. City officials say 44 FEMA projects are in the pipeline, and a higher federal cost-share has significantly reduced Augusta's local burden as remaining work and documentation continue.

IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta returns Sunday with water safety, downtown construction in focus (wjbf.com) — Thousands of athletes are descending on Augusta for Sunday's IRONMAN 70.3, bringing a packed Savannah River, downtown route changes, and a strong safety presence from Augusta Fire. Organizers are balancing water safety after a recent alligator bite and rerouting around downtown construction while keeping the race's big economic impact and volunteer effort focused on both Augusta and North Augusta.
   

5. Finding Solutions: Jamaican native raises sickle cell awareness through Ironman competition (wrdw.com) — In Augusta, an Ironman relay competitor living with sickle cell disease is using this year's race and his bright red hair to spotlight the condition and raise money for critical medical equipment in Jamaica.
