• Augusta man killed in Old Waynesboro Road shooting as homicide count rises (theaugustapress.com) — A 21-year-old Augusta man died after a Friday afternoon shooting on Old Waynesboro Road that also wounded a woman, adding to Richmond County's 2026 homicide total. Investigators have not identified a suspect or motive, and the sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division is handling the case as Augusta's homicide numbers remain below recent record highs.
   

• Local artist gives South Augusta neighborhood signs a colorful new life (wjbf.com) — South Augusta drivers may notice neighborhood signs looking brighter thanks to local artist Jullian Redd, who's repainting faded markers in areas like Barton Village, Meadowbrook, Raintree, and East Boundary. Community buzz and social media support are fueling his grassroots beautification push, and he's now seeking grants and donations to expand the project across Augusta neighborhoods.
   

• Augusta man accused of secretly recording ex-girlfriend in bedroom (theaugustapress.com) — An Augusta man has been jailed after a woman reported finding a hidden camera in her bedroom and bathroom, along with recordings she says she never consented to. Investigators say the device allegedly contained images of her sleeping and a clip that appears to show the suspect installing the camera at her home.
