Attorney Andrew Cash Begins Term as JDRF President of the Board

Cash, Krugler & Fredericks Founding Partner Andrew Cash will begin serving as president of the board for the Georgia chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in June. He will be inducted as president at a ceremony on June 5th at the Capital City Club.

As chapter president, Cash will lead a board of 40 business and community leaders responsible for $4.5 million in annual revenue in the state of Georgia and will also lead the state’s JDRF members in their efforts to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The organization strives to accelerate progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating and preventing T1D.  JDRF also provides critical emotional support and educational resources through an outreach program.

“I am excited to serve as president of the board for such an important organization,” said Cash. “The work JDRF has done to support those with T1D is truly inspiring and has touched so many families – including my own. As the father of two boys with type I diabetes, I am honored to serve as president of the board for JDRF and will do everything I can to help the Georgia chapter continue to play a significant role in funding research for a cure.”

Cash became involved with JDRF in 2004 after his oldest son was diagnosed with T1D at three years old. Their second son was also diagnosed with T1D in 2011 at the age of eight. Today, Cash, his wife and their two sons are active members and supporters of the organization and have participated in JDRF walks, galas and other fundraising and outreach efforts for many years.

JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. It is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, currently sponsoring $530 million in scientific research in 17 countries.

Cash’s Atlanta-based law firm is also a large supporter of the organization and was recently a sponsor of the Hope for a Cure Gala, which annually raises more than $1 million, for the sixth consecutive year.
