The day will kick-off at Chastain Park and feature a wide variety service projects to participate in.

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the community? On Aug. 25, Buckhead Christian Ministry (BCM) is coordinating numerous ways to do just that.

is hosting a "Community Service Day" that offers around 15 different ways to make a difference around Atlanta. To register for one of the many available service projects, visit the BCM website here. Service projects are available for all ages and volunteers will receive a t-shirt and complimentary breakfast and lunch.

The service projects seek to improve the lives of Atlanta area neighbors by beautifying the spaces in which people live, work and play.

In honor of the day's events, as well as BCM's 25th anniversary, a celebration will then occur back in the Chastain Park Green Lot — featuring a Kid’s Zone, music and lunch from Atlanta’s favorite food trucks. The celebration, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is for all members of the community and volunteering is not required to attend.

BCM is encouraging those that can't volunteer but still want to help participate by donating tools, supplies or by sponsoring a project.

BCM is a faith-based, non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to individuals and families of all backgrounds and faiths and strives to treat everyone with dignity and compassion. They are driven by a dual mission to serve those in need and provide opportunities for members of the community to be involved in service.

Founded in 1987 through the efforts of five Buckhead churches, these churches realized that people in need could best be served through a coordinated community effort. In the years since, BCM has grown to be a city-wide agency supported by 28 churches, corporations and businesses, private and public foundations, civic groups and thousands of individuals.
