Buckhead Coalition President: Over 9,000 Residential Units on the Way

Some of the apartment projects may fizzle out, Sam Massell says, but the general upward trend is a boon to the area's economy.

The president of the Buckhead Coalition announced Monday that several thousand apartment units were coming to the Buckhead area in the next few months, marking a positive economic climate for the area.

According to BuckheadView, Sam Massell reported that 9,422 units were either announced, being graded, being built, or already renting. This total nearly matches Buckhead’s pre-recession total of some 12,000 units.

Massell added that all of the units have been included in the Buckhead Coalition’s “Address of Choice” directory.

The latest residential developments coming to Buckhead include the Hanover Company’s plans to construct 351 apartments and nearly 13,000 sq. ft. of commercial space at a parking lot located at 3116 Roswell Road. The site is immediately to the north and adjacent to the Buckhead Theatre.

The Buckhead Community Improvement District (CID) would like to see more public parking spaces available in the West Village, and may seek to partner with developers like Hanover who are building new projects in the area, BuckheadView reported last week.
