Mayor invites faith leaders to community conversations (tncontentexchange.com) — Conyers faith leaders can meet with Mayor Connie Alsobrook to discuss coordinating services and addressing residents’ needs. Sessions run Nov. 10 and Nov. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 901 O’Kelly Street. Space is limited, and advance registration is required by emailing a name and preferred date to RSVP@conyersga.gov.
   

2. Conyers Police investigates reported threat at Rockdale County High School (ocgnews.com) — Conyers police say a social media threat involving Rockdale County High School lacked credibility and appeared to be a hoax. Investigators traced the original threat to a Wisconsin school and said the person responsible was arrested in Arizona. Police are still seeking whoever spread the false information locally.
   

3. Conyers restaurant receives failing health score of 67 (tncontentexchange.com) — Spectacular Hibachi on Eastside Drive in Conyers received a failing score of 67 during a Nov. 6 health inspection. Inspectors reported improper handwashing and food handling, dirty surfaces and gnats, along with inadequate managerial oversight. The restaurant’s previous inspection in June resulted in a score of 89.
   

4. School bus driver caused crash that hospitalized 22 football players, 3 staff members (wsbtv.com) — Georgia State Patrol says a bus driver's failed right turn caused last month's crash near I-20 and Highway 138, injuring Salem High football players and staff. All 25 people hospitalized have been released, though 16 players were still recovering ahead of Friday's game. Investigators found no impairment, distraction or speeding and do not expect criminal charges.
   

5. Rend Lake College Alum Donson Morain Jr. Builds Success in Financial Services (wmix94.com) — Conyers' Donson Morain Jr. has moved from college baseball into financial services, becoming a licensed representative at Fidelity Investments in Vero Beach, Florida. The 2023 Rend Lake College graduate credits a professor with pushing him to consider life beyond sports, and says relationships helped him turn an internship into a full-time job.
