Child Injured During Jump From Houseboat
DNR Rangers also responded to several other recent area calls.

A child suffered minor injuries on Aug. 25 after attempting to jump off the top of a houseboat on Lake Lanier.
On Aug. 25, Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division Ranger First Class Mark Stephens and Ranger First Class Mitchell Crump responded to the incident. The child dislocated his left wrist in the accident.
In other Lake Lanier area law enforcement news, rangers from Region II assisted with the . Rangers also worked with Gainesville Police in searching the lake and shoreline near an apartment complex where a Gainesville teen went missing. The teen was later discovered dead by another law enforcement agency.

On Aug. 25, RFC Eric Isom and K-9 Colt assisted the Hall County Sheriff’s Office in searching a wooded area in an attempt to locate evidence used in a crime.
Area rangers also participated in two public education classes. Sgt. Lee Brown attended the Aug. 25 Gwinnett Safe Kids “Water Safety” event at Buford Dam Park and assisted the U. S. Coast Guard in teaching water safety and the importance of wearing a life jacket.

The Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division Law Enforcement Section Field Operations weekly law enforcement report contains a sampling of events that have taken place statewide in the past week. The Law Enforcement Section is tasked with enforcing laws, rules and regulations pertaining to game and nongame animals, threatened and endangered plants and animals, exotic animals, boating safety, litter and waste control, and other natural resource issues.
