Burgess is accused of robbing the Little Caesar’s restaurant located at 2725 Hamilton Mill Road, as well as two other businesses nearby.
Police said numerous tips from the community helped lead to the arrest after photos of the suspect were distributed to the media earlier this week.
”Due to the coverage of this case in the media, we received over a dozen tips about the identity of this armed robbery suspect,” Gwinnett Police spokesperson Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news release. “The suspect was contacted by family members and encouraged to turn himself in.”
Investigators also determined Burgess to be the suspect in two other armed robberies — Pete’s Place, 11 Buford Village Way in Buford, and Oxford Cleaners, 2027 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road.
All three robberies happened between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m on March 25, police said.
