DNR Rangers Issue Citation for Hunting Deer With Bait

A look at local law enforcement activity by the Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division Law Enforcement.

A hunter was issued a citation after Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division Rangers discovered the individual was using bait to hunt deer. Also during the Sept. 15 patrol, another person was cited for hunting on lands belonging to another without permission.

In Gwinnett County, Rangers conducted several information and education programs from Sept. 13-15 at the county fair. The programs included a laser shot demonstration and Rangers were on hand to answer hunting, fishing, and career-related questions.

The Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division Law Enforcement Section Field Operations weekly law enforcement report contains a sampling of events that have taken place statewide in the past week. The Law Enforcement Section is tasked with enforcing laws, rules and regulations pertaining to game and nongame animals, threatened and endangered plants and animals, exotic animals, boating safety, litter and waste control, and other natural resource issues.
