A Wednesday morning fire caused moderate damage at a Buford-area duplex, according to Gwinnett Fire.

The fire happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Sturgeon Circle. Fire crews found heavy fire showing from the second floor of one of the units, but were able to keep the blaze from spreading. The fire cause extensive damage to the second floor.
No one was injured. The Red Cross was contacted to help the residents displaced from both units.

The exact cause of the fire is currently undetermined and is under active investigation by the fire department.
