Gwinnett County Police Schedules Clergy Citizen's Police Academy

The Gwinnett County Police Department would like to announce the dates of our first-ever Clergy Citizen’s Police Academy.

These sessions will be held on Mondays between August 17 through September 21 (with no class held onMonday, September 7 for the observance of Labor Day). Each class will take place between 12pm – 5pm at the GCPD Training Center or GCPD Headquarters (schedule to be distributed at Orientation).

The mission of the Gwinnett County Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy is to create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well-informed citizens and clergy members who want to learn more about their police department. Members of the CPA will be able to learn about the following portions of GCPD: Organizational Structure of the Gwinnett County Police Department, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics / SIS Operations, 911 Center, Crime Scene Investigations, Emergency Management, Use of Force, Internal Affairs, K9, Gang Investigations, DUI Unit, Traffic Enforcement, Accident Investigations, and SWAT Operations.

Clergy who are interested in joining the Citizen’s Police Academy can obtain an application from the Gwinnett County Police Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association website at www.gwinnettcpa.com. These applications will need to be received by the volunteer coordinator no later than Monday, August 3, 2015 to be considered for the Academy. Applications received after August 3rd will be considered for future CPA sessions (dates to be determined at a later time). The applications can be submitted the following ways:
