Just in Time for the Start of Summer, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice of Buford Opens This Weekend

Buford is getting a new place to cool off just in time for the first weekend of summer.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice of Buford will celebrate its official grand opening this weekend, bringing its lineup of Italian Ice, Soft Ice Cream and signature Jelati treats to Gwinnett County.

The new shop is located at 3320 Buford Drive, Suite 50, near the Mall of Georgia. Grand opening festivities begin at noon on Saturday, June 20, with a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. hosted by the Buford Business Alliance.

The celebration continues through Sunday, June 21, with sweet deals and family-friendly fun planned throughout the weekend.

Guests can enjoy half-off Tadpole, small and medium treats during the two-day grand opening celebration. On Saturday, the first 100 Jeremiah’s Rewards App users to check in at the Buford store will receive free ice for a year, redeemable as one free small treat per month.

Saturday’s celebration will include a full lineup of activities for families, including:

• Gaming truck
• Skeeball
• Balloon art
• Face painting
• Sports zone
• Soccer darts
• and a DJ from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is known for its refreshing Italian Ice made fresh daily, rich and creamy Soft Ice Cream and signature Jelatis, which layer Italian Ice and Soft Ice Cream into one colorful frozen treat. The menu includes a wide variety of Italian Ice flavors, many of which are naturally dairy-free and gluten-free.

Inside, the Buford shop will feature primarily indoor seating and a custom mural highlighting local landmarks, including Lake Lanier and Buford’s historic train.

Owners Kristina McCarthney and Laura Wenzel say they hope Jeremiah’s Italian Ice of Buford becomes more than a place to grab a frozen treat. They want the shop to serve as a welcoming community gathering spot and a place where local team members can learn and grow.

“We’re excited to bring Jeremiah’s to Buford and create a place where families can come together and enjoy something fun,” said McCarthney, a longtime business owner with experience across multiple industries. “For us, this is about more than just serving great treats. It’s about being part of the community and creating opportunities for people to connect.”

The shop is staffed with team members from the surrounding community, including high school students, many of whom are working their first jobs. McCarthney and Wenzel say they are excited to mentor young employees and help give them a strong foundation for the future.
