Police Looking for Man Who Robbed Buford Subway

The armed robbery happened just as the restaurant was opening on Sunday, December 20.

BUFORD, GA -- Police are searching for a man they say pulled a gun on a Subway employee and robbed the Buford restaurant just as it was opening.

Gwinnett County Police officers were dispatched to the sandwich shop, at 5965 Cumming Hwy., shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 20.

An employee told them that he had just turned on the restaurant’s “open” sign when a man walked in, a police news release said.

The man told the employee he wasn’t yet ready to order, so the employee went to another area of the store. When he returned, the man pulled a handgun from the front of his sweatshirt and tapped it on the counter, demanding money.

The employee opened the cash register and the suspect took “a few hundred dollars,” according to police.
