Preschoolers Do Household Chores to Buy Food for Those in Need

Caring and Giving during the Holiday Season!

Primrose School of Buford Pre-Kindergarten students pushed shopping carts, scanned shelves and filled their bags with non-perishable foods to help local families in need. All purchases were donated to the 11Alive Can-A-Thon, benefitting the Salvation Army Food Bank.

This donation comes when American families find themselves in critical need. One in six Americans face hunger, and many turn to food banks such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank. According to the USDA, about 49 million people – including 16 million children – are struggling with hunger in the U.S.

As part of the school’s Caring and Giving program, students at Primrose School of Buford have spent the last month doing extra chores at home to earn money for those in need. After combining their earnings and creating a detailed shopping list, the children were ready to go grocery shopping!
