Our first taste of summer weather — hot temps combined with a chance afternoon storms — comes this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Highs will be firmly in the 80s in Buford Saturday and Sunday, with a 20-percent chance of thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon, according to the weather service.

• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 84. Northeast wind around 5 mph.

• Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.
