Weather Upate: How Much Snow Will Fall on Buford, and When?
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 11 a.m. Thursday.

The Buford area could get more than 4 inches of snow in Wednesday’s winter storm, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

The weather service forecasts Buford will get between 3 and 5 inches of snow by the time the storm system leaves town (see attached forecast map above). Some places could get more.
Rain and snow will after noon, becoming all snow after 4 p.m., the weather service said, dropping 1 to 2 inches during the daytime. Another 2-4 inches could fall tonight.

Detailed forecast for Buford from the National Weather Service:
Wednesday: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 4pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 38. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Wednesday night: Snow, mainly before 2am. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy fog before 10pm, then Patchy fog after 1am. Low around 30. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Thursday: A 10 percent chance of snow before 7am. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
