Weekend Weather: Slight Risk of Storms, But Mostly Sunny, Dry

After recent storms, flooding and damage, we’re in store for a pretty nice — and dry — weekend.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, says the weekend will be mostly sunny in North Georgia, with only a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms. (see the forecast below)

Highs will be in the mid-80’s Saturday and Sunday and the chance of rain is no greater than 20 percent anywhere in the region (a greater chance comes next week).

• Friday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. West wind around 5 mph.
• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 86. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
• Saturday night: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast after midnight.
• Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. East wind around 5 mph.
• Sunday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Monday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
