• One hundred and six students were honored as the fall 2026 inductees into Georgia Northwestern Technical College's (GNTC) chapter of National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). (coosavalleynews.com) — Calhoun families recently packed Georgia Northwestern Technical College's Gordon County Campus to celebrate 106 students, including several from Calhoun, inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. The ceremony recognized high-achieving technical students who maintain strong GPAs and good standing. • AdventHealth Georgia challenges community to light porches pink for breast cancer awareness (daltoncitizen.com) — Calhoun residents are invited to join AdventHealth's October "Light Your Porch Pink" campaign by swapping in pink porch bulbs and prioritizing mammogram appointments at the local Calhoun facility. Free bulbs are being distributed across northwest Georgia, and organizers hope the visible show of support will spark conversations, honor survivors, and encourage early breast cancer detection through convenient 3D screenings.
