20 Grams of Meth, $1,800 Seized During Traffic Stop

Canton police made the bust after smelling marijuana inside a vehicle.

CANTON, GA -- A routine traffic stop last week in Canton resulted in police discovering a considerable amount of methamphetamine, cash and marijuana.

Officer conducted the stop around 4:21 p.m. June 3 on Marietta Highway near North Etowah Drive. While speaking with the vehicle's three occupants, the patrol officer noticed the smell of marijuana.

The officer began his investigation, and subsequently seized about a half of a pound of marijuana, 20 grams of meth and $1,800 in cash.

The traffic stop also led to the arrest of Canton resident Angel Enrique Aquino, 19, who was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Aquino was transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
