27 Students Selected For Governor's Honors Program
The four-week summer program for rising high school juniors and seniors will be held from June 18 to July 15 at Berry College in Rome.

CANTON, GA -- More than two dozen students in the Cherokee County School District have been chosen for the competitive Georgia Governor's Honors Program.
Twenty-seven students will take part in the four-week summer instructional program at Berry College.
The initiative, for rising high school juniors and seniors, is designed to provide students with academic, cultural and social enrichment “necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators and leaders.”

Students live and study on the campus in Rome from June 18 to July 15.
Students apply for a specific area of study, and are screened and interviewed locally and at the state level as part of the selection process for the prestigious program.

The students will be recognized by the Cherokee County School Board and superintendent of schools at the board's May 4 meeting.
