Freedom Middle School sixth-grader Avery Stanley won the school’s annual spelling bee on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 and will represent the school at the Cherokee County School District Spelling Bee at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 at Cherokee High School. The school’s alternate is runner-up seventh-grader Patrick Kump, who will compete at the District bee if Avery is unable to do so.
