Armed Robbery Reported at Convenience Store in Holly Springs

BREAKING: the subject entered QuikTrip on Holly Springs Parkway, produced a knife and demanded cash from the store clerk.

CANTON, GA -- An armed robbery was reported overnight Friday at a convenience store near Interstate 575 in Holly Springs.

Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a call of the robbery around 3:49 a.m. May 5 at QuikTrip at 4865 Holly Springs Parkway.

A male subject entered the store, approached the store clerk, displayed a knife and demanded cash from the register, the sheriff's office said in a press release.

The clerk complied with the demands and dumped the cash into a black shoulder bag. The subject left the store in an unknown direction of travel, and it's also unclear if he left the area in a vehicle at some point, the agency added.

The subject is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years of age, with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee with a thin mustache. He was described as wearing a long sleeve black or dark-colored hoodie with the words American Eagle embroidered on the front, gray shorts and light colored shoes.
