Armed Robbery Reported At GNC In Canton
An armed suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the store on Sixes Road Thursday evening, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery reported early Thursday evening along Sixes Road. Deputies were dispatched around 6:46 p.m. Jan. 4 to GNC at 3760 Sixes Road and met with an employee who recounted the incident.
The employee said a man armed with a handgun entered the store and "demanded money from the cash register and safe," sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley said. The male obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the business through the back entrance of the store.
He is described as a white male between 18 and 22 years old, 5'6'' to 5'9'' tall with a thin frame, blue eyes, blond hair and a silver bar piercing above one of his eyebrows, Sgt. Kelley added. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored sweatshirt, dark-colored jacket and a green drawstring backpack.

Deputies don't know if the suspect left on foot or got into a vehicle after leaving the store, the spokesperson added. At this time, the sheriff's office has not obtained pictures or videos from the surrounding businesses of the suspect.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case and is asking if anyone saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area around the time of the armed robbery to call 9-1-1 or the Criminal Investigations Division at 770-928-0239.
