Attempted Kidnapping Remains Under Investigation In Canton
Detectives continue to review neighborhood surveillance cameras in the hopes of finding the car reportedly driven by the male subject.

CANTON, GA -- The investigation into a child's report that an unknown man tried to abduct him Tuesday afternoon remains active, as the Canton Police Department continues to work any and all leads that come into the agency.
Spokesperson Pacer Cordry said detectives have reviewed all surveillance footage they've received at this time, and have been unable to find a car that matches the description given by the 12-year-old boy.
The juvenile told police he was walking in his subdivision located off Fate Conn Road around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 when he was approached by an individual driving a newer model, black four door vehicle. The subject, described as a white male with long hair, told the boy "his mother was sick at the hospital and she sent 'them' to pick him up," the police department added.

In response, the boy told the male subject he just got off the phone with his mom and that she was at home. The male subject drove away, and the child went home to report the incident to his mother (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts.
