The Bert Show, Atlanta Hawks Create Special Moment For Child
2016 Bert's Big Adventure child Leslie Barnett, who lives in Jasper, will serve as cheerleader for the basketball team on March 25.

The Bert Show and Atlanta Hawks have teamed up to provide a young cheerleader an experience of a lifetime. Seven-year-old Leslie Barnett of Jasper, Georgia was surprised by the Atlanta Hawks cheerleading team in mid-February with a unique opportunity: to become an Atlanta Hawks cheerleader for a day.
Leslie, who suffers from Cystic Hygroma, was chosen to be one of 13 children who took part in this year’s annual trip to Walt Disney World® as apart of Bert’s Big Adventure. Bert’s Big Adventure is a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. She was surprised with the opportunity during the organization’s Big Send Off party hosted by The Bert Show which includes a live broadcast of the radio show, Disney characters and surprises for the children, with the ultimate goal of creating magical moments for these deserving families.
The VIP cheerleading experience provided by the Atlanta Hawks will take place on Friday, March 25th, introducing Leslie as an official team cheerleader for the day. Leslie’s afternoon will kick-off with her arrival through the player’s official entrance where she will meet with the Atlanta Hawks cheerleaders to take part in all pre-game preparations, including hair and make-up. Leslie will join the cheerleaders on the court for the team introductions in her custom-made Atlanta Hawks cheerleading uniform and will enjoy the duration of the game in a suite with her family to watch the Atlanta Hawks take on the Milwaukee Bucks at Philips Arena.
