Boil Water Advisory Lifted By City Of Canton

Testing samples showed Sunday night that the water in Canton in the system was consistent with all state drinking water standards.

CANTON, GA — The Boil Water Advisory that was issued on Friday has been lifted by the City of Canton as of Sunday night.

Testing samples were collected late Saturday and resulted Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m. Those samples showed the water in the system was consistent with all state drinking water standards.

The City of Canton experienced a water main break Friday morning in a 10-inch line from the Bobby Bishop Water Treatment Plant in an area behind the Riverview Cemetery downtown. This break created water loss in the following areas: downtown Canton, Hasty Elementary School, Brown Industrial Park, South Canton, Marietta Highway, Cherokee High School, Pointe at Puckett Creek, Whispering Woods, and the areas fed by the Ridge Pine Storage Tank. Additionally, there were areas of lower pressure system-wide, Canton City Manager Billy Peppers said.
