Buddy Alexander Photo Exhibit Closes June 25

Captured Memories: Cherokee County showcases images from the popular photographer during the 1950's through the 1970's.

CANTON, GA -- If you've been putting off visiting the temporary Buddy Alexander collection at the Cherokee County History Museum, then you may want to take a trip to the Canton institution within the next week.

The exhibit, which showcases photos of the county produced by the popular photographer, will close on Saturday, June 25, the Cherokee County Historical Society said. 

Captured Memories: Cherokee County through the Lens of Buddy Alexander allows residents to see the county through the photographer's eyes during the 1950's through 1970's.

The Alexander family donated the expansive collection, consisting of nearly 80,000 images, to the Historical Society in 2004.

It also highlights some of Alexander’s favorite subjects, including schools, churches, businesses and aerial views of the county.

The Cherokee County History Museum, located at 100 North Street Suite 140 in downtown Canton, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Admission into the venue is free.
