According to the indictment, the Kuykendalls are accused of causing "excessive mental pain" to a child younger than 18 by allegedly keeping their home in unsanitary conditions.

The indictment notes those conditions include animal feces covering the floor, deceased cats kept inside the home for an extended period of time and the presence of more than 100 animals.

Cruelty to animals is a misdemeanor while cruelty to children is classified as a felony, the marshal's office previously told Patch.
Specifically, the cruelty to animals charges stem from the number of felines inside the home that were in "poor condition," the marshal's office previously said.
