Canton Couple Killed In Motorcycle Crash
The crash occurred Saturday, Oct. 1 in White County.
CANTON, GA -- A couple from Cherokee County died Saturday in a motorcycle accident in White County.
Phillip and Jane Norwood were traveling westbound on S.R. 75 Alternate around 7 p.m. Oct. 1 when the operator lost control while negotiating a curve and struck a tree.
An accident report released by the Georgia State Patrol indicates both motorists were ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 5 for the Norwoods. According to his obituary, Phillip Norwood, 59, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Norwood, 50, also was a member of the church, her obituary notes. She, along with her husband, also enjoyed working with youth at the church, hummingbirds, riding motorcycles, photography, fishing and shooting.

The Norwoods are survived by their children, Gary Freeland and Jessica Norwood; Jane Norwood's mother, Vernagaye Sullivan; her sisters, Mary (Terry Glazer) Sullivan and Donna Humbert; and Phillip Norwood's siblings, Julie (Jeff) Greene and Tim (Heather) Norwood.
