Officers will spend the upcoming months in the department's Field Training Officer program, which "provides a foundation for learning that prepares new officers to familiarize themselves with the policies and procedures of the organization," the agency said.
The new officers will also begin to integrate themselves with businesses, city ordinances, learn how to navigate their way in the city and start to interact with the citizens to build relationships in our community. The FTO program also provides a foundation for learning that prepares officers for the complexities of policing today and in the future.
