Canton Main Street Inferno Chili Cook-Off Returns Nov. 11
Applications are being sought for the annual competition, which will be held at Cannon Park in downtown Canton.

CANTON, GA -- If you think you've got the best chili in Cherokee County and love to engage in some friendly competition, then the city of Canton's upcoming contest could be the perfect way for you to show off your culinary skills.
Applications are now being accepted for the Main Street Canton 2017 Inferno Chili Cook-Off, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 11. The competition will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Cannon Park.

The participation fee for entry is $15 per team, and all head chefs will receive a commemorative apron. Here are some general guidelines to remember:
- The Main Street Program will provide a 10-by-10 tent to the first 20 contestants registered.
- Participants must provide their own generator, if needed, and it must be muffled for sound.
- All participants must prepare 5 gallons of chili for tasting (chili must be prepared off-site).
- The Main Street Program will provide 2 ounce tasting cups.
- Participants will be competing for the judges’ first-, second- and third-place awards, in addition to a People’s Choice Award.
- Teams must have complete list of ingredients posted during competition.
