Canton police arrested Elijah Vincent Mullins and charged him with burglary in connection to a June 28 incident at Subway, which is located at 2000 Riverstone Boulevard.

According to an agency press release, an employee with the business arrived around 8:30 a.m. to open the sub shop when she noticed “that a large glass window on the western side of the restaurant was shattered.”

Officers arrived on the scene, and located a large rock that appeared to be the item used to make entry into the facility.

Additionally, officers noticed a considerable amount of blood was scattered throughout the business, an observation that led Canton police to believe the suspect sustained a ”serious cut.”

Investigators collected evidence and followed up on leads, which subsequently led them to Mullins.

Mullins was arrested July 9 and booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. He remains held on a $11,200 bond.

“Our detectives dedicated themselves to finding who was responsible for this crime,” said Chief Mark Mitchell. “Their excellent investigative work was vital to bringing resolution to the case and I commend their resolve to continuing efforts to improve the quality of life for the citizens and businesses in our community.”
