Canton Man, 25, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
A preliminary investigation indicates speed may have played a role in the fatal accident, which occurred late Thursday evening in Milton.

Milton, GA -- A 25-year-old Cherokee County man was killed late Thursday evening in a single vehicle accident in Milton.

The Milton Police Department responded to the call around 11:33 p.m. Jan. 28 in the vicinity of 18300 New Bullpen Road near the Cherokee County line.
Officers arrived on the scene and found a vehicle that “had left the roadway and collided with a tree,” said Milton police spokesperson Lt. Charles Barstow.

Located inside the vehicle was its sole occupant, 25-year-old John K. Johnson of Canton, suffering from “grave injuries,” Barstow added.
Johnson was treated on scene by medical personnel, but succumbed to his injuries, Barstow added.
Preliminary indications at the scene suggest that speed may have been a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing and will be handled by the Milton Police Traffic Specialist Unit.
