Canton Men Charged With Killing Hunting Dogs
Aaron Cook and Timothy Chattin are accused of killing the two dogs last month in Dawson County.

DAWSON COUNTY, GA -- Two Canton men were arrested late last month on charges they fatally shot two hunting dogs in Dawson County. Aaron Cook and Timothy Chattin are each charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and party to a crime, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Law Enforcement Division said.
Mark McKinnon, spokesperson for the agency, said the pair were arrested Sunday, Oct. 29 in connection to an incident reported on Cowart Road near Dawsonville.
"Both dogs are deceased and no further details are immediately available as the investigation is ongoing," McKinnon told Patch.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Dawson County Sheriff's Office said both dogs were shot after the men allegedly became frustrated because they believed the dogs were scaring the deer away.
Chattin and Cook were each booked into the Dawson County Jail on the felony charges, and were released Oct. 29 on a $3,700 bond. No other details were made available.
