Canton PD Wants You To Join Lip Sync Challenge
The Canton Police Department is inviting the community to take part in its lip sync challenge at 7 p.m. July 26 at Etowah River Park.

CANTON, GA — The Canton Police Department has heard your pleas for its officers to join the lip sync challenge that's sweeping the country. While it has enthusiastically accepted the challenge, the Canton Police Department has added a twist to its plans to partake in the fun.
Canton residents are invited to join officers and Police Department employees for Lip Sync with a Cop at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at Etowah River Park.
"We have been overwhelmed by requests to do a lip sync video," the agency said. "So, by popular demand, we will be doing a video, and we would like for you to be in it. Please join us! Bring your poster board signs to show your support."

Canton Police Chief Mark Mitchell said the concession stand will be open for snacks such as snow cones and drinks.

"We don't want to just be a department that does a lip sync video," Mitchell said in a videotaped message posted on Facebook. "We want to be a department that engages with the community...while our community and citizens help us do this video."
Chief Mitchell ends his message with a tease of him lip syncing to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."
