Canton Police Explorers Take 15 Children Christmas Shopping

The Canton Police Department Explorers Post 0221 were able to help 15 local children Dec. 18 by hosting Shop with a Cop 2014 at Walmart on Ball Ground Highway.

Through the generosity of local businesses, service clubs and individuals, the Explorers were able to provide each child with $125, which they used to purchase Christmas gifts for themselves.

“As a result these children will have much appreciated gifts under their tree this year,” Canton police said on its blog.

The purpose of Shop with a Cop is to provide less fortunate children a happier holiday season and to interact with local law enforcement officials in a positive setting.
