“Our series of community meetings over the past several years has resulted in stronger relationships and the building of trust with our citizens," Chief Mitchell said. "However, we are not where we need to be and our outreach efforts with those we serve are a work in progress that needs to be continuously cultivated and not left to become stagnant. Our department fully believes that it is vitally important to connect and engage with our citizens which will continue to pay important dividends now and in the future to allow us to effectively address criminal activity and public concerns.”
