Canton Special Election Recount Set For Monday
Cherokee County elections officials will start the recount in the Ward 3 race at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10.

Cherokee County elections officials will conduct a recount of the Ward 3 Canton City Council election results early next week.
The recount will start at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10 at the Albert Stone Elections Building at 400 East Main Street in downtown Canton.
Ward 3 candidate James Busi requested a recount of ballots cast in the city’s Nov. 4 special election.

Farris Yawn defeated fellow challenger James Busi in the race to replace Glen Cummins, who was tapped to serve as the Canton city manager.
Yawn won the race with 49.97 percent, or 2,235 votes. Busi garnered 49.21 percent, or 2,201 votes. Yawn‘s lead is a mere 34 votes.
