Canton Special Election Recount Yields No Change in Results

Farris Yawn was elected to the Ward 3 seat and will take office on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Monday’s recount of the Canton City Council Ward 3 race show the results from the Nov. 4 special election will remain the same.

The results confirmed Farris Yawn defeated fellow challenger James Busi in the race to replace Glen Cummins, who was tapped to serve as the Canton city manager.

Yawn won the race with 50.3 percent, or 2,235 votes. Busi garnered 49.6 percent, or 2,202 votes.
