Canton Teen Reported Missing Found In Colorado

CANTON, GA -- A teenager who left home late last month in Canton has been located nearly two weeks later on the other side of the country. Police in Idaho Springs, Colorado, have found 16-year-old Mayci Olschewske, Canton police said Thursday.
Officers in that jurisdiction, which straddles Interstate 70 to the west of Denver, received a 9-1-1 call from a citizen who had seen Mayci's information on a missing person's post and recognized the vehicle the teen was driving.

"Mayci is safe and the family has been notified," Canton police added. "We would like to thank all agencies involved and the public for their assistance in finding Ms. Olschewske."
Mayci left her Canton home on Thursday, Aug. 31, and officers captured her on surveillance cameras at a local ATM and convenience store before leaving the area. Officers initially believed she was traveling to Paulding County and also noted she had ties to Florida.
