Agents recovered a total of six ounces of methamphetamine from a home at 820 Rabbit Hill Road, which is valued at $8,850.

Two women from Canton have been charged with trafficking and possession of methamphetamine.
Agents with Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad, or CMANS, on Thursday, Oct. 2 executed a search warrant at 820 Rabbit Hill Road in Canton and arrested arrested Darlene Ivy Reddin, 50, and Tonya Denise Zimmerman, 40.
Reddin has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine while Zimmerman is charged with possession of methamphetamine, CMANS said on Tuesday in a press release.

Both remain in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Zimmerman has a bond of $11,200 while Reddin is being held with no bond.
CMANS agents established surveillance on the Rabbit Hill Road address after they received information that Reddin was allegedly involved with the distribution of the drug in the Holly Springs area. Agents observed Reddin arrive at her residence, accompanied by Zimmerman, with roughly two ounces of methamphetamine in her car.

When agents entered the home, they discovered an additional four ounces of methamphetamine inside the residence.
The total amount recovered was almost six ounces of methamphetamine, which is valued at $8,850.
Possessing any amount of methamphetamine is a felony, but punishment is enhanced by Georgia law to the offense of trafficking in methamphetamine when the amount exceeds one ounce, CMANS noted.
“While heroin use is on the rise, the crystal methamphetamine imported from Mexico continues to be the number one drug abuse problem in Cherokee County,” the agency stated.
The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad is a joint task force working in Cherokee County to investigate drug related violations. Participating agencies include the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, Ball Ground Police Department, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, District Attorney’s Office for the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia State Patrol.
