Car Leaves Roadway, Strikes Tree in Canton
The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated from the car.
CANTON, GA -- A Cherokee County resident is in serious condition following a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening.
Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office responded to the crash along Orange Mill Road near Owens Store Road just before midnight.
A preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree, said sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker.

The driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Canton resident Tanya Tourison, was entrapped in the vehicle after the crash.
After her removal, she was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. There were no other passengers in the car, and the accident is under investigation by the sheriff's office's Traffic Enforcement Unit, Baker added.
