Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Promotes Five
Five Cherokee County firefighters were promoted Feb. 11 during ceremonies held at the Cherokee County Fire Training Complex.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Five Cherokee County firefighters were promoted Feb. 11 during ceremonies held at the Cherokee County Fire Training Complex, located just south of Holly Springs.
After a brief welcome from Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, five firefighters were asked to come forward to receive their promotion warrant.
Fire Apparatus Operator (FAO), David Jones III, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Two firefighters were promoted to the rank of lieutenant, and they were Sgt. Michael Sims and Sgt. Jon Villalobos.
Promoted to the rank of Captain was Lt. Matthew Richter.

Capt. Clay Cloud was also appointed to the rank of Battalion Chief.
Numerous firefighters, chiefs and family members attended the event.
